Cheap Sony XBR-52HX909 52" 1080p 240Hz 3D LED LCD HDTV Discount Review Shop
I have had my tv for 4 weeks now and I must say I still get impressed by it's picture. Today I watched Train spotting on standard dvd via my Sony bdps550 and I was amazed how good it made the 480I look. It looked almost like a blu ray. The picture was perfect it had that film texture perfect brightness. This led is so good because it uses white led light it does not have a blue tinted light like so many lcd /led panels;call edge led. You see if you have a blue led it will tint your white color and it will offset all the other colors. So when you go out and look at a big tv wall compare the white colors on this set to others. You will notice other sets make the skies way too blue and peoples face look off color and on outside footage you lose the golden glow of the sun.
The other great thing about this set is the part that also makes it expensive; it is the back lit led. It allows sections of the panel to have no light which gives you great black levels " it makes a dark movie like Batman" look great and you don't lose detail in the surround parts which may need to be lighter.
The hd off the air antenna looks great and leaves you wowed and the remote is so cool too it has a power key on the underside so you can use your index finger to power the set. Now you don't have to make your way to the top of the remote to turn it off.
Lastly the 3d part. You may not care about 3d but you will like it when you see it. Remember this led has the best picture you can buy so 3d is just an extra feature. ps if its outside the budget checkout the kdl55hx800/810 it's also good. One more thing always use monster cable and monster power. good luck I hope this helped

This dark horse has the best PQ that's available within Sony's 2010 HDTV lineup - jtorion -
Hello- I am no expert here & I normally don't write reviews for things. But I've noticed this LCD/LED TV only had 1 review for it, so I'll show it some love. I've had it for a day now and after tweaking the "out of box" settings just a bit, this panel just came to life. It displays some very vibrant colors, crisp whites & very, very deep blacks. The sharp/clean image detail is way beyond my softer more subdued looking XBR2. Although my XBR2 had better off axis viewing, the HX909 is pretty darn good when it comes to this. This may have something to do with the HX909's Glass Monolith panel design, which by the way is very cool looking. The panel comes with a swivel base that can be tilted back 6 degrees. The internet hook-up via ethernet cable works great.
I replaced my older 60XBR2 with this 52HX909 and the PQ makes up for the loss of 8" in panel size. IMHO, I feel that the HX909's full array back lit led w/local dimming makes this panel the best option that's available within the 2010 Sony HDTV lineup. I only care about 2D, therefore 3D does nothing for me. Also, I'm not a gamer. Although this TV lacks some of the on board gadgets that the LX900 series has, it certainly makes up for this with it's far superior PQ. Based on the better PQ I would go with a full array back lit w/local dimming panel over any edge lit/some local dimming(NX810) panels any day. Whatever panel you may decide to go with, just enjoy your new TV.

Buying a TV has become much more complicated than it was years ago. There are many things to consider, from what type of TV to get. You go for LCD or plasma? LED or OLED? And what size is best? Which brand is distinguished from the rest?
The TV is the latest OLED or Organic Light Emitting Diode. OLED TVs are thinner and offer better picture quality, but are more expensive as well. Their life is also notas long as other TVs, consequently, an OLED TV is not a very practical choice ... unless you do not mind throwing away a tidy sum of money for something that is excellent, but it will not last very long.
Then there are the LED televisions, less expensive, but a cut above standard LCD TV. LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, referring to the light used to illuminate the screen and produce an image. Standard LCD TVs use fluorescent tubes, which give limited color saturation, without depthblacks.
With 42-inch LED TV, you get very clear images with a wide variety of color and superb contrast. Compared to their counterparts in LCD and plasma, but they are also more efficient.
All in all, 42-inch TV is the best choice. They provide excellent image quality at reasonable prices. True, they are usually more expensive LCD TVs, but the quality of enhanced image is worth more dollars.
Many brands offer their own models of 42 "TV. Bestsellers are Samsung, Sony, LG and Vizio. Samsung 42-inch televisions are elegantly thin, and are among the most highly recommended.

The LG42LE5400 is a great TV, no question about it. Picture is excellent, sound quality is much better then expected, and the lag time as suggested by other reviewers while playing video games is not noticeable. My PS3 looks great linked into this TV with an HDMI cable, and the blu-ray player looks even better. Watching Avatar tonight on the set, can't wait to see the picture quality.
The only downside to this set had nothing to do with the TV at all, instead, it had to do with the misleading home delivery service. The company that delivered my set did nothing but push the TV to the end of truck and then I carried it into my house. NO SETUP, NO TESTING. The packaging was great and the TV has no blemishes, so I guess I can't say the shipping was all that bad, but it was definitely misleading.
However, if you're looking for a great picture on a TV with tons of perks, this is definitely the way to go. I researched for over 6 months to pick the right TV. I kept going back and forth between the Panasonic Plasmas, and this LG LED LCD. Major factor that pushed me to get the LCD was the amount of light that would be cast upon the screen in the room that I have it set up in. If I had a theater room that was kept in the dark I may have gotten the plasma, although, this TV looks so great I think I made the right decision for any room with any level of natural lighting.

Which Size HDTV is Right for My Room?
 | With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get.

I have had this television for two weeks, and am very impressed. Granted, I upgraded from a 24" "old-fashioned" set; nevertheless, I have been amazed with the HD picture (color, motion, etc.).
Just yesterday I installed a wireless router and the USB adaptor, and have everything working.
I will say that my TV did not work right originally. A number of colorful pinstripes appeared vertically. I contacted LG right away, and they sent a technician to my home. New parts (the entire screen assembly) were ordered, and were installed yesterday. So, although the produce "should" have been perfect right out of the box, their customer service took care of things for me right away.

The LG LED 42-Inch TV is fantastic. Undoubtedly the best picture on any TV we have seen. Love the fact that it doesn't heat up as we have it in an entertainment center. All the applications for operating the TV are very user friendly. We purchased a 46-Inch Toshiba Regza in 2009 for our second home. The LED TV's were not out at that time. I would highly recommend the purchase of any LG TV HDTV/LED. The delivery from Amazon went very smooth and the TV was in excellent condition when it arrived by special carrier that unwrapped the TV.
